Isabelle Boutet, Ph.D.
Principal Investigator
I was born in Québec city and moved to Toronto to complete a Bachelor’s degree at Glendon College (York University, Toronto, 1995), followed by a Master’s degree from York University (1997) under the supervision of Josée Rivest. I then moved to Montréal and obtained a Doctorate in experimental psychology from McGill university (2002) under the supervision of Avi Chaudhuri. This was followed by two post-doctoral positions, one at the Université de Montréal with Jocelyn Faubert, and one at UTSC with Bill Milgram. I then spent 15 years as a teaching-intensive professor at the University of Ottawa. In 2021, I fulfilled my dream of having my own laboratory and became a tenured-track professor at the university of Ottawa. I teach courses in French and English in research methods, perception, and child development. My research has been funded by SHHRC, and is currrently funded by NSERC. I have two children and I enjoy taking walks with my dog, doing yoga, and eating good food.
